Meet, err, well, for want of a better name, Charley Junior. I'd always said that I wished I'd known Charley as a kitten and now here he is! Except it's not Charley, it's a stray that a neighbour brought to us. Nice to be known as "the people who take in cats" :-S
She (yes, she's a she) is totally adorable but boy is she hard work. She never stops exploring; running, climbing and wanting to be into and under everything. I imagine that if we left her alone for a moment we'd end up having to dismantle the house to recover her. She's mostly been exiled to the bathroom, as it's big, safe and comfortable, and we can leave her there without worrying.
We've tried to keep Charley in the dark about her, but he wandered into the bathroom when we didn't even know he was in the house (the joys of a cat-flap, eh?). He was a little puzzled and bemused; the kitten didn't bat an eyelid. After that he went out in a huff, but returned later and welded himself to our laps. Seems he decided to fight for his place in the best way possible.
Anyway, tomorrow Kitty goes to the cat shelter. We don't want another cat, we want to give Charley 100%. Anyway, we never expected to have kids again at our age - we're way too old and it shows. She's been fun for one night, and it's been very easy to get attached. But tomorrow she goes, hopefully to someone who can give her all their love.
