We weren't disappointed; we got a lovely seat close to the Christmas tree and the real log fire, not so close that we roasted but close enough that we could feel it's lovely warming glow. It felt very cosy, especially given the dismal grey weather outside. Wife commented that if we'd found this in The Lake District we'd have thought "what a find".
For food wife had Goat's Cheese & Nut Wellington which came with an assortment of veg, and I had a Chick Pea & Sweet Potato Tagine with Coriander Couscous. It was all very nice, and as with their other pub the veg (baby carrots, potatoes and green beans) were cooked to perfection and both dishes nicely presented. It's not the cheapest pub food you can get (it's not the dearest either), but it is much better quality than some of those "2 for £5" places.
To drink I had a pint of Shepherd Neame "Rudolph's Reward", a very tasty pint with a lovely aroma.
A very nice night out in a very nice pub, and with the best company a man could hope for. Love you, Darling xxx.
