Ash

So volcanic ash has brought air traffic in most of Northern Europe to a standstill. I forgot to look up into the sky and notice the lack of con trails while I was out riding, it must have been pretty weird and I guess people near Heathrow & Gatwick will really notice it - and probably love it!

My sister is due to fly home from holiday on Monday and I think she's already worrying about it. Normally she wouldn't worry too much, but Baby Niece has exams soon after they get back and she wouldn't want to miss them!

Some advice about when the ash particles come to earth from a website I was looking at:

If people are outside and notice symptoms such as itchy or irritated eyes, runny nose, sore throat or dry cough, or if they notice a dusty haze in the air or can smell sulphur, rotten eggs, or a strong acidic smell, they may wish to return indoors.

Doesn't that just mean you live in Billingham?
