Ramla

No messing about today, Ramla Bay was the only place we wanted to go. We enjoyed it so much yesterday (but the blog post of it isn't up yet - written but waiting for a wi-fi connection) that we couldn't wait to come back.

First thing though we strolled around Xlendi, our last chance to do so, and took some photos. Then it was off to Ramla! It wasn't as rammed as yesterday, at least not when we arrived. We still payed to park, it's nice to right by the beach rather than have to drag along that dusty road, and then went into Rose's for lunch. More junk  ood, I'm afraid, Veggie burger & chips for wife and "Gozo sandwich" (Gozo peppered goats cheese, capers & olives - that was one savoury sandwich!) for me.

After that it was down to the beach! The water was even clearer than yesterday as the wind had totally died down, it was like swimming in a huge warm bath. Delightful. A bit of sun time after that, and then suddenly the wind picked up. Someones umbrellas was uprooted - I adjusted the angle of ours so that it wouldn't catch the wind. That didn't work - 5 minutes later it was up and off, being whipped along the beach like some automated destructor machine, taking down three other brollies on its way before someone lept on it and killed it! We left it down after that, and went in for another swim!

Back to Xlendi, a bit of packing (back to Malta tomorrow) and then out to order our pizza. Tonight was our last romantic evening in Xlendi, and what better way to spend it than with a take-away pizza and a bottle of pop sitting on the rocks at the head of the bay watching the sun set. Unfortunately some distant clouds spoiled the sunset as a spectacle, but they couldn't take away the romance, Sometimes the simplest things are the best.

A few long-exposure night shots of the bay and the resort and then off for the nightcap, this time a glass of red and a glass of white at Moby Dicks. By the way, we looked around their apartments (http://www.mobydickgozo.com/) this morning and they are stunning, simply stunning!

So back to Malta tomorrow. We'll miss Gozo and Xlendi, but I'm sure we'll be back.
