early mornings and long journeys on the rest of this trip. My God but
it's hot here, well over 30 and it would really feel it if not for the
moderating effect of the Meltemi which gives a constant light breeze,
a double blessing when combined with a dip in the sea.
We went to St George's beach, Naxos' town beach really, had a swim and
a bit of lying around in the sun. It's hard work but someone has to do
it. When we tired of that we hit the Flisvos Beach Club for a couple
of ouzos, some chilled vibes and some deep and meaningful
conversations about paracetamol and other analgesics.
For dinner we went to Picasso, a respected and long-established (15
years) Mexican restaurant. We ate there last time we were on Naxos but
seemed to forget just how large the portions are. We were stuffed full
at the end of the meal, which we could barely finish.
A gentle stroll back to the hotel took us through at least a dozen
wifi hotspots, none of which actually allowed my iPod to send emails
or access the web. Just what is going on? I'm starting to wonder if
any of these blogs will see the light of day before we return!
