get out for the ferry to Naxos. Fittingly this was the Blue Star Naxos
and it was already boarding when we arrived at the port.
We sat outside for the first part of the journey before the baking sun
got to be too much and we retired to the air conditioned lounge. This
gave me the opportunity to catch an hour's shut eye before awaking
just in time for the ship's arrival at Paros. We had been going to
have a couple of nights here, but decided we'd be stretching ourselves
too thin.
Half an hour later we were off again, and 40 minutes after that we
were on Naxos. It has been a good journey, the sea flat calm to the
extent we hardly felt we were moving, despite doing close on 30mph.
Getting picked up at the port by the Hotel Grotta bus was an
unexpected and welcome surprise, as we had omitted to tell them of our
arrival time. We know where the hotel is and had just planned to walk.
Once again this place offered free wifi and once again it was of a
type incompatible with iPods and phones! Some day soon I will get
connected and actually post these blogs!
