beach for lunch. On the way we stopped off at another hillside
village, this one Anogyra, famous for its Carob production.
Unlike yesterday's supposedly famous village, in Anogyra Carob
production was much in evidence. We passed two places making it,
stopping off at the second one, a "carob museum". We had a very
interesting tour with a most delightful old lady who's family business
it has been for generations.
After a coffee stop and a wander around the lovely village (it would
be a fabulous place to live) we headed for Evdimou. The place was less
busy than yesterday, but still busy enough. We found a table with a
view and tucked into lunch of Haloumi, chips & eggs, washed down with
beer (for me) and wine (for wife).
Lunch was digested by relaxing on top of the large rock down at the
water's edge, doing our best impressions of Copenhagen's Mermaid.
All too soon it was time to head "home", stopping off at Geriskipou's
main square on the way. This has had a major facelift since our last
visit. We liked Geriskipou before, we like it even more now. Its
unique 5 domed church looked fabulous in the late afternoon sun.
Dinner tonight will be at Omnia, a swish "Greek Only" place up in the
old town. Live music is playing as I write this - an unexpected bonus.
