Safe At Last?

Cracking game at the Stadium Of Light today. The team played out of their skins and if Bent didn't have a penalty hoodoo against Spurs (only missed 3 in his life, all against Spurs) we'd have been coasting by half time. Had the new, improved Craig Gordon to thank for keeping us in it in the second half but had chances ourselves (a good looking goal chalked off for who-knows-what) but then settled the nerves with a strike of pure class from Zenden.
Bizarre that in a game where we got 3 penalties the ref seemed determined to give us nothing! Rash Spurs challenges went unpenalised and those that were resulted in no cards, whereas our players seemed to get booked for making perfectly good challenges. OK, so I wear Red & White glasses! Mind, Cattermole was dead lucky that one of the Spurs players managed to hurdle one of his more extravagant challenges otherwise Cats would have been off! Lucky for that Spurs player too, otherwise he'd have been stretchered off in two pieces!
Outstanding displays from Gordon, Turner and Henderson, well supported by Meyler and Campbell. 4 of our remaining 5 games are against teams facing the drop, so that's a good potential to pick up a hatful of points in the run-in. Or to fall spectacularly.
