Ayia Triadha

On our afternoon drive we went to Ayia Triadha, a small and fairly
picturesque beach by a small and fairly picturesque fishing harbour,
both overlooked by a small and fairly picturesque church. Reason
enough to visit, but an even better reason is the pride of feral cats
that hang out near the church.

These cats are absolutely gorgeous, some of them the most beautiful of
colours and mostly with longish, fluffy hair. They earn a meager
existence by scrounging fish scraps from the fishing harbour but are
helped out a great deal by kindly local ex-pats who bring cat food,
biscuits and fresh water down each day.

One of the poor little darlings only has three good legs, but has
(apparently) been that way since a kitten and has managed to become
full grown despite being low in the pecking order.

They all seemed good natured and none showed any fighting injuries or
fought to keep food to themselves. After being fed they all laid
contentedly in the sun, grooming their fur and looking as playful as
any house cat. It was quite possibly the highlight of wife's day.
